Long Term SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) opportunity available in Walthamstow

The school supports pupils with a range of special needs including Autism and PMLD. They aim to provide students with quality education, to help them strive and achieve high expectations as well as encouraging a safe and exciting learning environment.

The role:

SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) will work closely with staff to ensure pupils reach their maximum potential. TAs will need to provide support and encourage students in the classroom.

Job Attributes:

    • Understand and be able to use non-verbal and verbal communication
    • Understand social behaviour, affecting pupils ability to interact with both children and adults
    • For this role candidates must have an updated DBS
    • Experience with working in an SEN setting/youth experience
  • Team Teach

  • Willing to help teachers manage behaviour difficulties and classroom disruptions
  • Be able to support pupils on a 1:1 basis
  • Flexible Availability
  • Encourage pupils to have a positive outlook on their education and take part in classroom activities

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
