Leyland SEN School requires Teaching Assistant

Job description

Teaching Personnel work exclusively with a Leyland based School which specifically provides support and education for KS2-4 pupils with SEMH Difficulties, Autism, ADHD, ODD and pupils who display challenging behaviours. The School is smaller than average, currently catering for approximately 40 pupils, both male and female. The School hours are 8.30am - 4pm and candidates applying for this role will ideally hold a valid UK driving licence as you may be expected to transport pupils to and from School during the School day. The School is based on the outskirts of Leyland and is easily accessible via the M6 motorway.

The School are looking to appoint a long term member of staff to join their growing team, the role is likely to become a permanent position before the summer holidays. Ideally the School are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant with SEMH/Autism experience and candidates who hold their Team Teach qualification will be favoured. The role will be full time and candidates applying for this role must be willing to undertake one voluntary day in School prior to the role starting.

The candidate must be; hard working, empathetic, enthusiastic and passionate about enriching the lives of pupils. Candidates with SEN and/or behaviour experience will be favoured but this could come from either a School, Youth Worker, Care or first hand background.
