TEACHING ASSISTANT- LEVEL 3

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a School in Preston. Duties include:

  • Working as a general assistant supporting the class teacher
  • Working alongside the Curriculum and Maths and English Framework
  • Assisting with lower ability and higher ability groups of children to ensure all their needs are met.
  • Providing 1:1 support for a number of children in the class with Special Educational Needs including ASC, ADHD and EAL.

We are looking for a flexible, hard working and qualified Teaching Assistant to Level 3, who is willing to work under the leadership of the class teacher in a Year 2 class. You must be able to work under direction of a senior member of staff and also use your own initiative to develop working relationships and enhance the learning experience for the children in your care.

There is nothing more satisfying than coming home after a days work and reflecting on the progress the children have made in that working day. You will also receive a good amount of support from the Senior Leadership Team, it has been commented on that they are particularly positive and allow you to reflect on your support on a daily basis which some of our current employees find helpful.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, have at least 3 months experience working within a school or nursery, and have a strong knowledge of the KS1 Curriculum. You will also be asked if you have an interest in any further extra curricular activities as the school are always looking to add new after school clubs to the timetable.

The Role:

KS1 Experienced Teaching Assistant

Necessities for the position:

  • Experience working in a School or Nursery setting in the last 6 months
  • Level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • Flexibility to undertake an after school club
  • Confidence to build good working relationships with the children and parents in school.

This role will be contracted initially through Teaching Personnel at 6 hours per day, 30 hours per week

The rate of pay will be around £9 per hour

The role will potentially last for the entire academic year
