Level 3 TA required in Preston SEN School

Job description


Our client school in Preston are seeking Teaching Assistants who can support the development of Primary and Secondary pupils who have Education, Health Care Plans (EHCPs). Their learning difficulties are wide and varied therefore you must have experience supporting yung people with SEN.

Candidates will need to have enthusiasm and stamina in order to meet the needs of young people on a daily basis. The position is initially to support pupils in a form group in all subject areas. Candidates will also be required to support medical needs.

This is a temporary, part-time, term-time only vacancy the hours of which are:

8.30am - 3.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday)
8.30am - 4.30pm Thursday

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS will be required from the successful candidate.

NVQ level 3 or above qualification (or equivalent).
Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy.
Experience of working with children with SEN of Primary age.
Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environment (special school / short stay school).
Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
Experience of Administrative work.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
