Level 2 Teaching Assistant for Barnsley Primary

Teaching Personnel are currently working closely with a handful of Barnsley's Primary Schools that require the immediate support of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual who enjoys a challenge and wants to improve the quality of education for young pupils in the local Sheffield area.

The job role and benefits:

  • You will work under the instruction/guidance of the teacher and other senior staff members, to ensure the care and support of the pupils.
  • You will help enable access to learning for the pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of their classroom.
  • Will involve work within the classroom and outside the main teaching area.
  • Working in a well respected primary school in the heart of the community.
  • Excellent transport links.
  • Supporting class teacher within a strong senior team.

You will have:

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Level 2 NVQ for teaching assistants or equivalent, or have relevant work experience.
  • Classroom based experience.
  • Training or experience in relevant learning strategies.
  • Shown initiative and be confident to get involved in all areas of the school.
