LSW required in the Mendip area!

The School is an independent special school for girls and boys aged 8 -18 years with a wide range of needs, all of whom have SEN statements or EHC plans.

Job Purpose: To provide support for teachers and pupils who have personalised learning programmes across our 3 School sites based in Mendip and Sedgemoor areas.

Duties include:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with individual pupils and groups
  • Promote pupils social and emotional development and respond effectively to behaviour
  • Provide support for learning activities and support literacy and numeracy activities for children with a wide range and severity of special and additional needs appropriately and effectively in a range of different settings
  • Support pupils with communication and interaction difficulties, cognition and learning difficulties, and sensory and/or physical impairment

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Experience supporting children with special educational needs
  • A vision for children who have unusual profiles
  • Own car, working over three bases
  • A mature and professional manner
  • A good sense of humour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
