Learning Support Specialist for ASC Provision:

Teaching Personnel are currently working closely with an Academy in Bedford who are seeking a Learning Support Specialist to teach in their ASC unit on site. The school has recently expanded from a middle school to a secondary school, and have plans for further growth further in 2019. The school boasts an excellent curriculum extending to three modern languages as well as outstanding facilities in both performing arts and drama. The school is features a facility for trainee teachers. The ASC unit in which the teacher will be required for includes four classes of 8 pupils ranging from years 5-9. The provision caters for students on the Autistic Spectrum with an EHC Plan.

The role may include some of the following tasks:

  • Encouraging children to be confident and independent
  • Helping children understand instructions and complete tasks
  • Encouraging children to communicate
  • Preparing learning materials
  • Keeping records in line with school policies
  • Helping students to reach their full potential

We are currently looking for candidates that have the experience of working with/knowledge of, one or more of the following:

  • ASD, EBD, Dyslexia, MLD, PMLD or SpLd
  • Behaviour management
  • Education Therapy
  • One-to-one or small group support work
  • Personal care

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
