Learning Support mentor Totnes and Exeter

Are you a dedicated education practitioner? Are you experienced in supporting and facilitating Learning Support to young students? Are you from a Youth or Social Work setting and keen to make a difference in a young person's life?

We are currently seeking to appoint a number of Learning Support Mentors to work in the Totnes area and Exeter areas. The position is working on a 1:1 capacity, engaging and supporting with the pupils studies, you could be paired with a primary or secondary aged pupil dependant on your skills and preference. The role Monday to Friday 5 days a week, term time only, you will be paid weekly and you will also have access to a full and comprehensive 2 week induction where you will be immersed into the schools framework and ethos to best support the needs of the young person you will be supporting. You will also be paid mileage for your role.

Your day as a Learning Support mentor, you will work with your pupil to engage with core studies, you will build and develop more socially acceptable ways for the student to communicate with staff and peers. You will also work with your pupil on and off site, in vocational learning activities; outdoor education sessions, swimming, forest school work, parks and woodland areas.

  • ADHD / ASC / SEMH / ADD

All applicants will need to be drivers, within a 40 min commutable distance of Totnes, for position to start in November - ongoing.

  • Educated to Degree Level or Higher
  • BTEC Level 3 or Higher
  • Sports Coaching or Instructor Qualifications and one of the above qualifications
  • FE PGCE / FQT / NQT / TEFL
  • Functional Skills teacher or tutor
  • Tutor in Literacy / Maths
