Learning Support Assistant x2 - Cardiff

We are currently supporting one of our partner schools with their interview and recruitment process for 2 upcoming Teaching Assistant vacancies in December. The Teaching Assistant vacancies are to support with a number of pupils all with varying needs. This Cardiff Secondary School boasts specialist facilities to support with additional learning needs, challenging behaviour, Autism & intervention support for core subjects.

You would need to be confident in any of these settings and having the right attitude is a requirement that the school have specifically asked for because no two days are alike in this school.

Working alongside vulnerable young people you will need to be able to act as a role model as well as an academic support function. The pupils you are working with may come from backgrounds where they may not have a sold support function outside of the school environment, therefore it is paramount that you can quickly build relationships and gain trust of the young person you will be working with.

People who have worked well in this role before are confident and educated to degree level. You have to have empathy and also be able to work on your own initiative due to the school being so fast paced.
