Role: Learning Support Assistant
School: All-Age Community Special School
Location: Nailsea
Salary: £55-65 per day

Do you have experience working with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, SLD, Attachment disorder and challenging behaviour?
Teaching Personnel is looking for a learning support assistant to support a class teacher and a small number of students in the Nailsea area. This is an incredibly rewarding role working with students aged 3-19 who display a range of complex needs including SEMH, learning difficulties, communication difficulties and autism; due to this the students present high anxiety and some challenging behaviour.
This OFSTED rated 'Good' school caters to 110 students in total with small class sizes of 6 to 8 students and places emphasis on raising standards of pupil attainment. The classes are grouped by ability and not by age so it is a really exiting opportunity to work with a range of students in a really lovely school that has an incredibly supportive staff base.
The ideal candidate:
- Good knowledge of the school curriculum
- Support the teacher in planning, teaching and assessing
- Maintain classroom ethos and a consistent approach to teaching and learning
- Promote appropriate levels of support in order to promote independent learning
