Cover Supervisor needed at secondary school in Audenshaw, this is a 5 day per week 35-hour role with the school looking for the successful applicant to start ASAP but is willing to wait for the right educator. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their experience working in a school setting. Sometimes known as an ‘unqualified teacher’ the school is considering applicants of all experience levels.

  • Earn £1500 - £1800 per month
  • Work 8:15am – 3:15pm

The school has recently undergone a full rebuild/refurbishment and is located in a lovely area, the behaviour in the school is said to be good with the students having outstanding attitudes towards learning. Any behavioural issues are dealt with swiftly and accordingly in line with the school’s zero tolerance towards classroom disruptions.

In the role of a Cover Supervisor you will cover classes across the subjects delivering preprepared material to students of KS3 & KS4. You will work as any Teacher normally would, helping the students where necessary as well as differentiating learning to make sure pupils with different processes take the maximum from your sessions.

Occasionally you will work with the school’s support staff to help with 1:1 and small group interventions for students who are falling behind. There also may be exam invigilation opportunities and library support for you to help with during any free periods.

There will be instances where you will be working with children with SEN, all training needed to support any students with additional needs will be provided by the school. It is important you remain open minded and understanding when working with these pupils.

Desired characteristics for the role:

  • Adaptability is key as you will provide cover for every subject for every year group when called upon
  • Teamwork is a valuable skill in this role as you will be working closely with the school’s dedicated support team
  • Being personable is vital as you will need to build a rapport with students from a range of different backgrounds
  • Strong communication skills are also key as you will be working with students with different levels of understanding as well as pupils whose first language is not English

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
