Learning Support Assistant

Job description

We are currently looking for individuals in the South/South-East London area to work on a 1:1 basis with student who have found it hard to adapt to mainstream school. You will be taking on a learning support assistant/tutor role as you will be assisting with classwork and helping students struggling in their education.

The role will involve working with 2 students per day, with sessions from 8.30am-12pm with the first student and 12.30pm-3pm with the second. Candidates must have a good knowledge of English and Maths as you will be supporting with GCSE functional skills level work.

 

The Role

  • The role is full-time (5 days per week) for the successful candidates
  • You will be supporting children with educational difficulties such as ADHD, ADD and challenging behaviours as well as those with social difficulties.
  • The role will begin immediately and continue for the rest of the Academic year, with the opportunity for a permanent contract for successful caniddates.

 

The Candidate:

  • Will have UK classroom experience
  • Ideally have experience working with children 1:1
  • Have good knoweldge of Maths and English (a basic skills test will be administered as part of the interview process)
  • Be available to start after half-term
  • Excel at building great relationships with pupils and staff
  • Have a current DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one

The pay for this role is GBP90 per day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later
