Learning Support Assistants - Teesside
Do you have the personality and skills to make a difference to children’s wellbeing? Are you looking for the chance to make a positive impact to help children after School closures?
After the first School closures, we saw a huge focus being placed on children’s wellbeing and emotional needs. Schools required an individualised and patient approach to help stabilise the learning environment and deliver strategic support to children needing help with emotional wellbeing, behavioural support, nurture groups and friendship groups. We are looking for individuals interested in working within Primary Schools, to offer support on a 1-1, small group or whole class basis. The aim will be to improve confidence and social skills, be there for children suffering from anxiety and support them throughout the reintroduction into the learning environment.
- Recent experience within a Primary setting is desired along with knowledge of SEN and challenging behaviours
- Initiative and an enthusiastic nature are essential as pupils will require routine and clarity to avoid any additional distress on return
Essentials:
- Minimum Qualification – Level 2 or higher in a relevant area (Childcare, Supporting Teaching and Learning, SEN, Education etc)
- Willingness to make a difference to assist the school in supporting pupils
- Valid DBS (A Child Workforce certificate that is accessible through the Update Service)
- Eligible to work in the UK (Right to work in the UK documentation)
Benefits:
- Weekly pay through PAYE
- Opportunity to build on your skills and knowledge through our ‘Outstanding’ CPD programme.
- Our ‘Recommend a friend’ scheme, where you can earn money by nominating your fellow colleagues for work.
Schools may at present be closed, but this is a perfect time to apply. We will aim to complete our vetting checks and referencing in time for school reopening - meaning you are ready to go and can provide essential support from day 1. Working with Teaching Personnel you will be a part of the nation’s largest education support agency, with the advantage of managing your work around your own commitments, working flexibly and to your own availability. Hours of work can vary; however we would want candidates who are able to work 3-5 days per week, around school opening times (typically 8.30am – 3.30pm, Monday to Friday).
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
