A secondary school located in the South Manchester area is looking to secure a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for the period between January and March 2019. The successful LSA will be supporting students in year 9 - 11 with intervention in a range of subjects, including Maths, English, Science, Business Studies and ICT. This school is known for its academic nature and are therefore looking for a confident, adaptable and motivated graduate who has experience in supporting secondary aged students in a previous setting.

Key aspects of the LSA role:

  • Full time (option for part time) LSA required: graduate level education required
  • Pay range dependent upon experience and qualification: ranging between £54 - £75 per day
  • Provide support and intervention to year 9 - 11s
  • Highly academic school with a large cohort of students identified as excelling students and gifted and talented
  • January - March 2019 in the first instance but possibility to continue

The school have advised that whilst they are ideally looking for a LSA on a full time basis, there could be the option of a part time role for the right candidate. Graduates who have experience of supporting students are highly encouraged to apply now. This position is initially for the Spring term up to March but depending on the right candidate and successful LSA; could be extended for the period thereafter April and May. This will be to support year 10s and 11s with their GCSE preparation and provide intervention during lunch breaks, and period 5 study leave.

The school is located in the South Manchester area classed as Stockport making it very easy to access via the M60 motorway network or for those travelling from Levenshulme, Longsight and Didsbury via public transport. The school is specifically an average sized secondary school with the successful LSA planned to support KS4 in the main, year 9 - 11.
