Learning Support Assistant

Are you seeking a career within the education sector? Could you make an excellent learning support assistant for pupils attending secondary school? Are you available at least three days a week?

If so, Teaching Personnel may have the perfect role for you. We are currently recruiting teaching assistants to work within various secondary schools in the East Riding area. You will be required to support these schools in cases where there are supply needs. Your role will therefore vary. As a Learning Support/ Teaching Assistant you could be required to work 1:1 with pupils who have challenging behaviour and are at risk of exclusion; who are performing at a lower ability than expected of their year group and/or pupils with special educational needs.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Experience working/volunteering within an educational based setting (nursery, school, college, residential living or youth support)
  • At least 5 GCSEs (including C grade in English and Maths)
  • 3 days availability per week
  • Flexibility to work across different schools within East Riding

This position is also subject to an Enhanced Child Only DBS check which must be completed before your LSA role begins, this can be applied through Teaching Personnel. It is desired that you have a Teaching Assistant qualification, however this isn't essential.

Location: Hull and East Riding

Hourly Rate: £9 - £11

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
