Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Secondary Learning Support Assistants to work across Hull. Being the UK's leading education provider, we work with many secondary schools and colleges in East Riding who require Learning Support Assistants to start in September 2019.

As a Learning Support Assistant you will be required to support learning activities in schools. You will work with individual pupils or small groups. You will support pupils with a range of abilities and may work exclusively with pupils with special educational needs.

Interviews are being held late May for candidates who:

  • Have a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or extensive experience
  • Have a good level of education, GCSEs A*-C (including English and Maths) or equivalent
  • Have excellent levels of communication
  • Are confident and flexible

It is desired the candidate has:

  • An Enhanced Child Only DBS on the Update Service or the ability to apply for one
  • A full, valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour
  • Able to travel across Hull
  • Level 2 Safeguarding

As a Learning Support Assistant you will be required to:

  • Deliver tailored teaching activities to pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Make sure that the pupils you support are able to engage in learning and stay on task during the lesson or activity
  • Support the social and emotional development of pupils, reporting any issues when required
  • Support the teacher in managing challenging pupil behaviour and promoting positive behaviour

Pay: £9.50 per hour

Location: Hull

Contract: Temporary with a view to go permanent. Part-time and full-time positions available.
