Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a fantastic school in Dilston, Northumberland to recruit a passionate, experienced Support Worker to work alongside children and young people with Autistc Spectrum Condition (ASC), on a full time basis. This is a wonderful provision that seeks to provide support to young people between the ages of 16-18. 

As a SEN Learning Support Assistant you will be working in small classes of students alongside children needing extra support and guidance with their learning and life skills. The children you will be working with have a multitude of special educational needs requirements due to ASC such as:

  • Difficulties making friends or keeping them
  • Lack of empath
  • Says the wrong thing
  • May seem very cold hearted – doesn’t realise they have hurt your feelings
  • Needs lots of reassurance
  • Doesn’t like change, likes a routine
  • Doesn’t like team games, struggles to understand rules

The successful candidate must have experience working with Special Needs and Disabilites and be willing to fully commit to this role. 

Teaching Personnel can offer the successful candidate:

-          Competitive rates of GBP275-350 per week, however long term rates can be negotiated on your behalf

-          An experienced Consultant along with our dedicated on call service
