Learning Support Assistant – Surbiton

Teaching Personnel have a client Secondary School near Surbiton currently looking to hire LSAs to work on a 1:1 basis and in small groups with children with SEN, specifically autism and ADHD. The position will be full time to start after October half term and work till the end of the academic year, interviews are taking place the week beginning the 28^th of October.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will be reporting to the SENCO at the school. The SEN coordinator is looking to hire someone with the following education, experience and attributes:

• Either;

  • A degree from a Russell Group University (2:1 or higher) in any specialism although psychology would be ideal.

  • Over 6 months experience working in as an LSA (or similar position) at a secondary school working with children with SEN (any SEN experience is accepted).

• A friendly and personable learning support assistant with a good attitude, willing to go the extra mile

• Able to travel to Surbiton on a daily basis

• Available full time from the end of October 2019 till July 2020 (there will be an opportunity for a permanent position from July 2020 depending on performance)

The Secondary school in question have an SEN department which works in tandem with the mainstream school to help students reintegrate. Senior leadership provide training to all learning support assistants so they have the opportunity to develop in a professional sense. The successful LSA would be working in a large secondary school which was rated ‘outstanding’ in a recent Ofsted report in 2018. It was noted how well students with SEN develop and perform academically against mainstream students.

• Learning Support Assistant with SEN experience or a Russell Group degree

• Pay rate between GBP70 and GBP100 a day

• Full time position starting in October 2019 till July 2020

• Able to travel in Surbiton
