Job Title: Art Teacher

Location: Tameside, Greater Manchester

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Position Overview:

As an Art Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire and guide our students in exploring their artistic talents. We are looking for a dynamic and creative individual who can cultivate a love for art while delivering high-quality lessons to students aged 11-16. You will be a key contributor to the school's mission of fostering creativity and excellence in the arts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and innovative art lessons to students in accordance with the national curriculum.
  • Encourage and support students in developing their artistic skills, creativity, and self-expression.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to explore and appreciate art.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of assessment methods.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects and activities.
  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and parent-teacher meetings as required.
  • Contribute to the overall development of the art department.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Degree in Art or a related field.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for art.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Experience in teaching art at the secondary school level is desirable but not essential.
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
