About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Core Subjects Tutor to join our team at a Manchester secondary school. The successful candidate will work on a 1/2/1 basis as well as in small groups, providing additional support to students who require assistance in core subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Science.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized tutoring sessions to students on a 1/2/1 basis and in small groups.
- Assess student’s strengths and weaknesses in core subjects and develop tailored lesson plans accordingly.
- Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that cater to the individual learning needs of each student.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to both students and their parents/guardians.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure alignment of tutoring sessions with the school curriculum.
- Utilize various teaching resources, including textbooks, online materials, and educational technology tools.
- Create a supportive and encouraging learning environment that promotes student confidence and motivation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven experience as a tutor or teacher in core subjects at the secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for core subjects.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to build rapport with students and establish positive relationships.
- Patience, empathy, and understanding of diverse learning styles.
- Organizational skills to effectively plan lessons and track student progress.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
