Job description

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large RC Secondary school in North Manchester to recruit for support staff ahead of the new academic year. A position has opened within the support department for a Learning Support Assistant to work with identified pupils in Key Stage Three. This position is due to start with immediate effect following the summer break, and will initially be available for one term until Christmas. The successful Learning Support Assistant will have the opportunity to gain a fixed term contract with the school in January 2019.

  • Full time Learning Support Assistant position, September 2018 start
  • Working with pupils across Key Stage Three with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
  • Supporting and reporting directly to the school SENCO
  • Tracking progress and delivering intervention sessions with pupils
  • Earn up to £300 per week and gain invaluable school based experience

**Previous experience working with young people in a Youth Work or Learning Support capacity is essential to be considered for this role**

The school has recently created a larger Inclusion Faculty to provide a targeted support network for pupils with a range of additional learning needs including; ASC, ADHD, SEMH and attachment disorder. As a Learning Support Assistant, one key role will be to work within the Inclusion Faculty working with students who require guidance whilst using the facility.

Situated in North Manchester, our partner Secondary school is larger than average with over 1,200 pupils currently on roll. For drivers, there are direct routes to the school via the M60 motorway, and public transportation links from Oldham, Rochdale and central Manchester also lead directly to the school.
