Learning Support Assistant for Numeracy Intervention

Teaching Personnel is currently working alongside an 'Outstanding' School in Hampton, TW12, who are on the lookout for a part-time Learning Support Assistant to support Numeracy Intervention, working both 1-1 and with groups across all year groups. Our client School is both a Junior and Secondary School, operating across two sites on the very pleasant Hampton Hill.
The Role
The vacant post is part-time working from 8am until 12.30pm Monday to Friday (or 3 days per week from 8.00am until 4.00pm) and will be based in the Junior Department, but will also provide support in the Senior Departments as required. The Junior Department is on its own site close to the Senior Department and is two form entry; the Junior Department is for boys from Reception to Year 3 and the boys automatically transfer to the Senior Department for Years 4- 8.
The main duties of the role will be to:
- Support with the learning of the pupils, with particular emphasis on Numeracy.
- Plan and run remedial individual and group work.
- Assist with development and review of individual educational plans.
- Assist in maintaining the learning support register and monitor the results of learning support pupils.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- GCSE Maths or equivalent.
- NVQ3 qualification or equivalent.
- Experience of how to support children in numeracy.
- Experience working with children on an individual basis and as part of a group.
- Ability to teach new concepts as agreed with the class teacher.
- Experience planning and running remedial groups for pupils with SEN.
