Learning Support Assistant - Autism Specialist

Teaching Personnel are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in one of our excellent schools, located on an estate in Thornbury, near Bristol. This school has a 'Good' OFSTED rating with beautiful surroundings and enthusiastic staff.

  • Pay rate: £60 - £70 per day
  • 40 hours per week
  • Hours will be: 8.30am - 5.00pm
  • To start as soon as possible


The ideal candidate will need to have good communication skills, be confident and be committed to work with children with autism.
Fitness and stamina is also important to help you face challenged and challenging behaviour. One of your main duties will be helping the student make safe choices on the school site and to integrate this into their main classroom.
You will be required to work closely with the pupils in supporting their learning across the broad curriculum; in the classroom, outdoor school grounds and within the local community.

A suitable candidate would be required to have the following:

  • A Child and Adult workforce DBS on the update service
  • To be trained in behaviour management training; Teach team, SKIP…..
  • Maths and English GCSE - Grade C and Above
  • A keen interest to work with pupils age 4 - 19 that can show severe challenging behaviour
