Job description

Due to a change in our client secondary school's support team, there is a gap for a Learning Resource manager on a full time basis for the remainder of this academic year. The school is situated in Trafford, not far from the airport.

Main responsibilities of the post;

* Managing students in the Learning Resource centre - behaviour management key to ensure learning environment is quiet

* Maintaining resources, laptops and other equipment in the resource by liaising with staff

* Supporting students on personal statements, preparing references and collating data for UCAS application

* Working with tutors to offer pastoral support to students

* Ensure students are supported during their study time

The school is a smaller than average sized mixed secondary comprehensive though numbers of students on roll are increasing year on year with a great reputation, results are well above the national average and in their most recent results, 75% of pupils gained a pass grade in both Maths and English. Senior leadership in school are extremely supportive and pupils respond to the high expectations of staff, behaviour is minimal and you will be teaching pupils who are keen to learn and achieve. The school has met the government's floor standards which are the minimum expectations for progress and achievement for the past 8 years and teaching and learning is a priority as the school look to continue this success.

To be taken in to consideration for the post, you must have;

* GCSE Grade C or higher in English and Maths or equivalent

* The ability to manage information in a range of different media, along with being comfortable in IT

* The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form

* A desire to work in education and support young people
