Learning Mentor - Salford
Are you passionate about supporting pupils that may be struggling with their studies? Do you have experience working alongside young people in a mentoring capacity?
Teaching Personnel are currently supporting our partner school in Salford who are looking to appoint a Learning Mentor from September 2019. Due to a gap in their team of support staff, this exciting opportunity will be on a temporary basis initially until the end of the academic year. Following the successful completion of the contract, it is highly likely the appointed Learning Mentor will obtain a permanent contract.
- Full time Learning Mentor commencing from September 2019
- Fixed term contract until July 2020 in the first instance
- Opportunity for permanent contract at the end of the contract
- 'Good' school in Salford
- Fantastic facilities throughout the academy
- Earn up to £325 per week
Our partner school is located in the Media City area of Salford Quays, and have recently appointed a new dedicated and inspirational Principal. With a positive Progress 8 score in line with the national average and a rating of 'Good' by Ofsted, this mixed comprehensive academy is popular within the local community. Ideally located close to a tram stop and a short drive from the M602, our partner school is accessible from a wide range of areas across Greater Manchester.
The role of Learning Mentor is an exciting one where the successful applicant will have responsibility of supporting identified students that have fallen behind in their studies, as well as supporting them in a pastoral sense. Targeted students may display challenging behaviour which interrupts their studies or have Special Educational Needs (SEN) which may include emotional or social needs. Working alongside the SENCO and the pastoral team, the successful candidate will mentor their students throughout the academic year, offering them support both in and out of the classroom. The end goal will be to see students' progress and attainment increase, as well as socially developing to allow students to reach their full potential.
If you would like to apply for this post as a Learning Mentor, please apply via the link below or send an updated CV to Chris Beckenham at Manchester North Secondary directly. Alternatively, call on the umber provided for further information.
