We have a school based in Plymouth which is looking for learning mentors that can carry out exciting daily tasks and engage with their student through different learning methods and activities.

What is a Learning Mentor?

  • 1:1 or small group teaching assistant role, working with a pupil who has challenging behaviour or SEN.
  • Offering support to the student during lessons in term times.
  • Full time position from February 2019 until further consideration.
  • Working in an alternative SEN School
  • Monday to Friday work, 8:30am-4:30pm (Term times only)
  • Working with teachers to aid learning with student school work
  • Carrying out exciting trips with students - outdoors, swimming, Learning outside the classroom.
  • Making a difference on a daily basis, creating great relationships with students and staff.

Successful Learning Mentor:

  • Will have previous experience of working with children and young adults
  • Will have a positive attitude and engages with tasks
  • Will be calm and relaxed in approach, able to dynamically change to the students needs
  • Will have a clean Full UK Driving license. If not, access to public transport is needed.
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification or higher

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £44, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.
