Teaching Personnel are currently supporting a primary SEN school in Plymouth who are recruiting for Behaviour Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis to support pupils with ASC and challenging behaviour. The successful candidate will have a full licence with access to transport daily and a NVQ Level 3 in a child/education related subject (or equivalent) as a minimum.

  • Long Term Full Time (Monday to Friday 8:30 - 15:30) term time only
  • March 2022 start – immediate start

About the School:

This SEN School in Plymouth caters for primary aged children with a range of learning difficulties, including Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. All the pupils have a Statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN) or an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).

The ideal candidate / desired skills and experience:

  • Available to start immediately
  • Full driving licence and access to transport daily
  • NVQ L3 in a child/education related subject as a minimum
  • Commit to a full time, long term role (5 days a week)
  • PECS and Makaton experience
  • MAPA or Team Teach (or equivalent positive handling training)
  • SEMH/SEN experience
  • Engaging personality
  • The ability to build strong relationships
  • Teaching assistant/ Learning Support Assistant
  • Youth work / Support Work / Care Work/ Sports background

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £40, plus an annual subscription fee of £13 for the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
