Learning Mentor

Job description

Do you want to support pupils on a group or 1:1 basis?

Have you got experience of working with people with special educational needs or challenging behaviour? 

As a learning mentor you will be working with pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis, typically this would be with pupils with special educational needs or challenging behaviour.

The role involves;

  • Supporting pupils inside and outside of the classroom
  • Aiding pupils with the transition to secondary education
  • Helping pupils to build confidence and self-esteem
  • Liaising with schools, teachers, and others such as social workers
  • Discussing the aims of mentoring with pupils
  • Thinking of creative ways to engage the pupil.

As an agency we work with a number of schools and specialist provisions that are looking for learning mentors to support pupils, ideally you would have experience of working with young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
