Learning Mentor
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a large mixed comprehensive secondary school in Oldham. Due to a current restructure within the Pastoral department, our partner school wish to appoint a full time Learning Mentor to join their team at the earliest convenience.
- Full time Learning Mentor role, ASAP start
- Working with vulnerable students and delivering mentoring sessions
- Covering a range of lessons in the absence of the class teacher
- Creating Individual Education Plans for identified students
This position will incorporate working with students from KS3 and KS4 in small groups and on a 1:1 basis. The appointed Learning Mentor will manage behaviour effectively and motivate students to become reengaged with their education. Further to this, the successful Mentor will cover lessons in the absence of the class teacher, across the curriculum. This opportunity is great for aspiring teachers as there is the chance to build on classroom management strategies, and work with full classes.
The school can be accessed via the A670 and neighbouring areas Mossley, Tameside and Rochdale. For non drivers, there is a direct bus from Oldham town centre that leads directly to the school.
For immediate consideration, please submit a full CV via the link provided.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
