Learning Mentor – Oldham

Teaching Personnel are working alongside one of our client schools in Oldham who are looking to recruit a Learning Mentor to support several students from January 2020 or sooner if possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to take their first step in an education setting, or who is passionate about supporting young students through their time at school.

• Full time Learning Mentor post from January 2020 (or sooner if possible)
• Role until the end of the academic year in the first instance
• Possibility of role continuing into the 2020/2021 academic year
• Earn up to GBP1300 per month (dependent on experience and qualifications)
• Oldham Town Centre location

Our client school is a small secondary academy based in Oldham Town Centre, although in 2020 they are due to move into their new building in East Oldham. Opening in September 2018, our client academy are at the start of their educational journey and are excited about their future offering a personalised experience for each individual student.

As a Learning Mentor at our client school, the successful candidate will be expected to support a targeted group of students in a range of different capacities. Students may have poor punctuality and attendance, organisational issues or social and emotional complexities. Working alongside Pastoral members of staff, the incoming Learning Mentor will be responsible for supporting targeted students, as well as reporting on the progress they are making. This is a highly rewarding role that requires a calm and patient manner as well as resilience. Prospective candidates from roles linked with young people such as youth work and sports coaching are encouraged to apply as they will hold many transferrable skills.
