Learning Mentor - Oldham
Do you want to make a difference to the lives of young people? Are you interested in working in education?
Teaching Personnel are working alongside one of our client schools in Oldham who are looking to recruit a Learning Mentor to support several students from Easter 2019 or sooner if possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to take their first step in an education setting, or who is passionate about supporting young students through their time at school.
- Full time Learning Mentor post from Easter 2019 (Earlier start available if appropriate)
- Role until the end of the academic year in the first instance
- Possibility of role continuing into the 2019/2020 academic year
- Earn up to £325 per week (dependent on experience and qualifications)
- Oldham Town Centre location
Our client school is an all-inclusive small secondary academy based close to Oldham Town Centre, although in 2020 they are due to move into their new building in East Oldham. Opening in September 2018, our client academy are at the start of their educational journey and are excited about their future offering a personalised experience for each individual student.

As a Learning Mentor at our client school, your role will be to support a targeted group of students in a range of different capacities. Students may have poor punctuality and attendance, organisational issues or social and emotional complexities. Working alongside the Head of Year, you will be responsible for targeting these students, as well as reporting on the progress they are making. This is a highly rewarding role that requires a calm and patient manner as well as resilience. Prospective candidates from roles linked with young people such as young work and sports coaching are encouraged to apply as they will hold many transferrable skills.
