Job description

The Head Teacher along with the SENCO at a large Bury Secondary school are seeking to appoint a full time Learning Mentor required immediately on a fixed 12 month contract due to a gap within the department.

The school wish to employ an enthusiastic, passionate and empathetic Learning Mentor who prides themselves in the support of young people. Also, due to the flexible nature of the role the Learning Mentor will be expected to adapt to various subject areas, learning needs and abilities.

  • Full time Learning Mentor, Bury Secondary school, required immediately.
  • Must have previous experience working with hard to reach young people within in a support capacity to be considered.
  • Opportunity to work within an Ofsted rated 'Good' Secondary school.
  • Earn up to £1350+ per month.

The incoming Learning Mentor will be required to;

  • Motivate to work with young people across all subject areas at Key Stages 3/4 and GCSE.
  • Support the teaching and learning of young people through dedicated 1:1 support, intervention and group work.
  • General cover responsibilities also apply where required with full support provided.

The incoming Learning Mentor can expect to be fully supported through CPD training programmes throughout the academic year 2018-2019. You will be joining a dynamic Secondary school, with just over 800 pupils on roll aged 11- 16, ideally located to be accessed via the M60 and the surrounding areas; Rochdale, Salford and Bolton. The school also has various public transport options with links throughout Greater Manchester.
