Job description

Large Bury based Secondary school are seeking to recruit an experienced Learning Mentor on a full time basis to work 1:1 with identified pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4 from May 2019 until the end of the academic year.

Due to several pupils going through the reintegration process it has created an increased demand for an additional Learning Mentor to work within the Alternate Provisions in place at school.

  • Learning Mentor required on a full time basis from May 2019.
  • Must have previous experience working with hard to reach young people within an Education capacity.
  • Opportunity to work within an Ofsted graded 'Good' Secondary school.
  • Earn up to £57 - £80 per day.

The incoming Learning Mentors will be responsible for;

  • The ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with young people in your care.
  • Creating a demonstrative resilience in working with challenging behaviours and attitudes with all levels of learners.
  • The flexibility to implement agreed learning activities/teaching in a range of subjects across the school board.
  • The promotion and safeguarding of young people you are responsible for or come into contact with.

This co-educational school is based in the Ramsbottom region of Bury and has just over 700 pupils on roll aged 11-16. There are easy access options via the M60/M66 as well as the surrounding areas; Bolton, Rochdale, and Preston. The school also has various public transport options with links throughout Greater Manchester.
