Job description

A primary school based in Southall are looking for teaching assistants with primary and challenging behaviour experience to support a young pupil integrating back into the school. The young pupil is currently in a behaviour provision and will need 1:1 support both in the provision and in the mainstream school.

The role is for 2 academic years supporting the pupil from year 4 up to year 6 and the shortlisted candidate will need to be proficient in supporting according to the primary national curriculum.

The provision is part of the London Borough of Ealing and provides an alternative educational provision for primary aged students from Reception to Year 6 that have been permanently or temporarily excluded from mainstream education.

Requirements:

  • Live in Southall/Greenford or local areas
  • Be able to work Monday - Friday (8:30 - 4:30pm during school term time
  • Experience as a youth worker and/or learning mentor supporting behavioural difficulties
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a mainstream school is highly beneficial
  • Understanding of Year 4/5 curriculum
  • Interest in supporting children with challenging behaviour and/or mental health issues
  • Be confident in supporting primary children with Maths, English and core subjects
  • Team Teach de-escalation training is highly beneficial (offered at a subsidised rate through Teaching Personnel)
  • Qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology and/or Sociology is beneficial
