Large multi-academy trust seeking SEN Teaching Assistants

Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with a fantastic multi-academy trust who require SEN teaching assistants to join them after May half term and continue into the new academic year.

We are seeking teaching assistants to work 1:1 with various forms of SEN across Bodmin, Truro and St Austell. All roles will be full-time (8:30am until 3:15pm) and will be paid at £9 per hour (£54 per day). We are hoping to find teaching assistants with recent school experience and previous experience working 1:1 with special educational needs or challenging behaviour. Courses/experience including Team Teach and Makaton would be extremely useful in these role but training can be provided for the right candidates.

Required education and experience:

  • 1 year minimum of school based experience
  • Maths, English and Science GCSE (grades A to C)

Desired attributes/qualities:

  • A passion for supporting children with special educational needs
  • 1 year minimum working 1:1 with challenging behaviour OR relevant training
  • Fun, energetic, great at working within a large team and keen to progress within the school

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
