Full time Looked After Child (LAC) Mentor required for a Salford Secondary school from September 2019. The Headteacher are working with a renowned Secondary school based in the heart of Salford, to recruit an experienced LAC Mentor to work with identified pupils across Key Stages 3 & 4.

  • Full time LAC Mentor required from September 2019.
  • Opportunity to work with hard to reach young people at a large Salford Secondary school. Must have previous experience working within a support capacity to be considered.
  • Earn up to £1300 per month.

This diverse school has a higher than average rate of SEN alongside Pupil Premium and staff have ongoing SEN training provided due to this. As the successful LAC Mentor you can expect to join a devoted staff team, working under the guidance of senior leadership and the SEND team.

SEND training for staff should be an ongoing programme to ensure that staffs are up to date with the latest developments in SEND and the SENCO is designing such a programme for the coming school year."

  • Provide day to day classroom support to pupils on a 1:1 or in small groups establishing good rapports with pupils, acting as a role model and acting on all needs as required.
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
  • Help to plan lessons by preparing materials and resources.
  • Have the confidence to address conflict and challenging behaviour.

Located at the heart of Salford this growing Secondary school has just over 800 pupils on roll aged 11- 16 and the school is situated across two grounds. It is easily accessible via the M60/ A580 (East Lancashire Road) as well as the surrounding areas; Bury, Bolton and Wigan. There are also numerous public transport links readily available with links across Greater Manchester.
