Are you a focused and enthusiastic key stage two (KS2) teaching assistant who have a strong level of experience within years 5 or 6? Do you have knowledge of SATS preparation and have a proven track record of helping pupils reach certain levels of attainment?
Teaching Personnel are seeking experienced and committed teaching assistants to help our client schools in Newcastle ensure that their latter KS2 classes are achieving their full potential academically. This would include preparing pupils for their SATS examinations as well as helping those in year 5 reach the national standards of numeracy and literacy. This is a rapidly growing area for schools, hence we are giving you the opportunity to join our strong team here at Teaching Personnel.
Role:
- Helping KS2 pupils to reach national standards for numeracy and literacy with a focus on years 5 and 6
- Aiding the school teacher to help prepare the students to eventually complete their SATS examinations
- Assist with the development of children both academically and emotionally
- Provide the children with a positive role model whom they can look up to
- Communicate with the class teachers to create strategies to target any pupils struggling in particular.
- Help plan fun, engaging activities based around the needs of specific pupils
Candidate Requirements:
Due to the nature of the school, the successful candidate will most definitely have experience in the classroom with either KS2. Experience working as a teaching assistant or learning support assistant within years 5 and/or 6 is desirable, whilst any SATS experience is a bonus.

- Experience working within primary schools assisting teachers
- Sound knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
