Job description

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a large Primary school in Cardiff who are currently recruiting for a teaching assistant to take up a long term position supporting autism in key stage 2. Due to an influx of children in key stage 2, this Primary school need additional support with a couple of autistic children. The successful applicant for this role will start as soon as possible.


This is an above average sized Primary School , catering for children aged (4-11) with a great staff team, welcoming opportunities within their classrooms and several opportunities for CPD.


The Position:
* Supporting Autism (ASC) in Key Stage 2.
* Recognising trigger points and crisis points for children.
* Supporting with communication using PECS
* Using visual timetables such as "Now and Next"


The Candidate Experience:
* Psychology Graduate - understanding of communication issues and barriers
* Social Workers and Youth Workers
* SEN Teaching Assistants with Autism or similar experience
* Respite Carers
