Job description

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced KS2 Teacher (ideally with Year 6 experience) to join a two form entry primary school in Cardiff (Ely) who are growing their friendly and supportive team.

The Role :

The right candidate must hold a qualified teacher status (UK) or equivalent and have taught for a minimum of one academic year in a British or International (English Speaking) school overseas. Please note that NQTs and Overseas Trained Teachers WILL also be considered. You will mainly be a floating Intervention and PPA Cover within the KS2 department, providing relief and support to each class teacher when required, and booster lessons to pupils to prepare them for Secondary school. You may also be required to cover a full classroom role with planning and marking on the odd occasion. This role is available for a teacher committed to work until at least the end of the academic year. The school is ideally looking for a teacher able to work from Monday to Friday BUT have stated they will consider part time applications (at least 3 days per week) for the right candidate.

Applicants must :

- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Hold a Child Workforce Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one - full assistance provided)
- Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (compulsory requirement in Wales) - please note that if you are living in England, you can still register with the EWC which will give you the opportunity to work on both sides of the border
- Provide two professional or character references
- Be available to interview and/or trial asap
- Be available to start on short notice
- Be living in Cardiff and/or have plans to move to Cardiff in the near future and/or be willing to travel to Cardiff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
