A larger than average sized Primary school in the Firswood area of Trafford (M16) are looking to recruit a specialist teaching assistant who can support a child in Key Stage 2 with Global Learning Delay (GLD).
The position is to start after February half term and the school are looking to trial candidates as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Show a willingness to deal with a wide range of challenging and obsessional behaviours
- Supervise and provide support for a pupil with GLD ensuring the child's safety and access to learning activities
- Assist with the development and implementation of the Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes
- Establish a constructive relationship with the pupil and interact with them according to their individual needs
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
- Encourage the child to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
- Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence
- Provide feedback to child in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher
- Be patient and calm and be aware of the children's needs
