Hybrid intervention Tutor

Fixed Term Contract

Gosport and from home

For the new academic year, the school which has a Secondary, SEN and Primary Phase are seeking to employ a KS2 Tutor to facilitate learning and catch up that has been impacted on due to the pandemic.  

You will be required to work on the school site delivering small group ‘bubble’ intervention sessions and then remotely through an online learning platform on a 1:1 personalised basis. You will work in collaboration specifically with the primary phases and catch up co-ordinator to deliver intense and targeted sessions with the aim of facilitating learning lost.  The school are looking for someone who would also be able to work with KS3 students to aid transition from KS2.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of 6 month experience tutoring the KS2 curriculum
  • UK QTS is desirable  however unqualified tutors who can demonstrate good knowledge of the primary curriculum
  • Minimum of C grade in English, Maths and Science and good undergraduate degree
  • Have a good track record of progress made with previous pupils
  • Patient, empathetic and able to build rapport with a range of students
  • Be able to identify any other gaps or concerns quickly to ensure every child receives the support they need
  • Be able to plan rich and engaging sessions tailored to different learning styles and track pupil progress
  • Be whiling to participate in CPD provided by teaching personnel

Part of the role will require teaching through an online platform remotely. Any candidate interested must be comfortable with this and have access to a quiet work place at home.

The school takes safeguarding very seriously and we too share this commitment. You will be required to undergo a serious of pre employment checks such as an enhanced DBS check and be able to provide references. Salary is negotiable based on prior experience, skills and qualifications.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
