Behaviour support teaching assistant required urgently!

Teaching Personnel are looking for a behaviour mentor to work 1:1 with a key stage 2 student in an alternative provision attached to a mainstream Primary School within the Kidbrooke area. If you are available after the May half term for full time work and would like to develop your career working with children that present challenging behaviour then I would love to hear from you.

This position is temporary to begin with, as the school wish to ensure they are selecting the best person for the job, however a long term position will be offered if you can show that you have the skills necessary to engage with this student and promote positive behaviour and progress within the unit.

You will need to be calm, patient yet very firm and understand that relationships with this student will be built over time. We are looking for someone that has experience of supporting students who display difficult behavioural characteristics and can give examples of students that you have developed a positive relationship with. Team Teach or alternative restraint training is highly desirable, as restraint may be a significant part of this role.

The school are looking to trial potential candidates over the next two weeks. If you wish to be put forward for trial, you will need to register with Teaching Personnel as soon as possible.
