Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is seeking to appoint a Key Stage 1 (KS1) Teaching Assistant to join their successful supply teaching team and to work in a local primary school in the East Lancashire area. The successful candidate will be based in a Year 2 class full-time for the Summer term (Monday 12th April - Tuesday 20th July). The school initally planned to recruit for this additional member of staff to start after February half term however with the uncertainity around schools reopening the Head Teacher and members of SLT have decided to recruit for the Summer term instead. The Head Teacher has commented that they would be looking for someone who is committed to the role as there may be a permanent position available in September 2021.

This average sized primary school in Clitheroe have a caring ethos and strong values. They are looking for an enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to work alongside teachers, senior leaders and governors. The desired Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant will be supported by a caring management team with high aspirations for the school. Children in Key Stage 1 currently make good progress and enjoy coming to school. Previous experience delivering English and Maths interventions is desirable. 

To be considered for the position of Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant you must:

  • Have experience supporting children in primary education in Key Stage 1
  • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in childcare
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of primary school staff
  • Knowledge and understanding of Year 2 National Curriculum

The role is to start on Monday 12th April 2021 on a full-time basis. The Head Teacher aims to shortlist and interview by the 12th March 2021; however, with the current circumstances, it is possible this could change. Interviews may also be taken place over video conference call. Rates of pay are competitive starting at GBP10.00 - GBP11.50 per hour paid into your bank account on a weekly basis.
