An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant at a Primary School in Lancaster. We are seeking a dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in Key Stage 1 (KS1).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons across the KS1 curriculum.
- Work one-on-one or with small groups of children to enhance learning and support those who may require additional help.
- Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and stimulating classroom environment.
- Observe and assess students’ progress, feeding back to teachers and parents as required.
- Support children with special educational needs (SEN) and ensure all pupils can access learning in an inclusive environment.
- Help promote positive behavior and social interaction in line with the school’s values.
Requirements:
- A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) is preferred.
- Experience working with children in KS1 or a similar setting is desirable.
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s education and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take initiative when required.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
