KS1 Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a 'Good' primary school located in Barnsley. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant looking to secure a full-time fixed term position. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual who wants to help improve the quality of education for young pupils.

The job role:

  • You will work under the instruction/guidance of the teacher and other senior staff members, to ensure the care and support of the pupils within Key Stage 1.
  • You will help enable access to learning for the pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of their classroom.
  • Will involve work within the classroom and outside the main teaching area.
  • Working in a well respected primary school in the heart of the community.
  • Excellent transport links.
  • Supporting the class teacher within a strong senior team.

You will:

  • Have good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Have a Level 2/3 NVQ for teaching assistants or equivalent, or have relevant work experience.
  • Have knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Training or experience in relevant learning strategies.
  • Be engaging, have a positive attitude and provide excellent behaviour management.
  • Show initiative and be confident to get involved in all areas of the school.
