KS1 Teacher

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a Accrington based primary school that are looking for a Key Stage 1 Teacher to join their school for a full-time basis. The role is due to a gap in staffing and is to start in September 2020 up until December 2020. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the KS1 National Curriculum and must have experience in the teaching of Phonics, particularly the Letters and Sounds scheme of work.

There will be a full-time general teaching assistant in the classroom who will also be leading small group interventions sessions two afternoons per week. This KS1 role is suitable for an NQT or experienced teacher, the Headteacher has commented that they will be considering all candidates with recent KS1 experience. If the school were to appoint an NQT, there would be support in place to complete a term of your induction year.

To be considered for the role, you must have:

  • Relevant experience teaching within Key Stage 1
  • A confident approach, knows how to adapt well in different situations
  • PGCE (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum and Phonics
