Vacancy reason – planned absence

The School:

This is a one-form entry primary school located within a more socially deprived area of Blackburn. The school is close to the town centre and is easily commutable by public transport. SLT have an excellent reputation within the local area and the Head Teacher is well respected by staff, pupils and parents. An effective behaviour policy has been implemented; as a result, the school and the behaviour have been graded ‘GOOD’ by Ofsted.  The Head Teacher is looking to source a teacher who is committed to contributing to continuous school improvement and somebody who will set clear expectations for pupils from day one in order to maximise attainment in class.

The Role:

This is a part-time 0.4 teaching role to begin from as soon as possible due to a planned absence. In order to secure the right person for the role, the school are able to cover internally until October half term – therefore, candidates who are able to start in school from 28th October are welcome to apply. The school are also flexible on the two days. The position will continue until July 2020 and the Head Teacher is looking for a practitioner who has at least two years experience in the classroom. In this role you will also be expected to cover PPA and management release time in the school’s KS1 classes and one afternoon in Year 3, planning, delivering and assessing the children in line with the local framework and the National Curriculum. You will therefore need to have strong subject knowledge across all curriculum areas, especially in English and maths.

The Pay and Working Hours:

The pay for this role will be determined by experience and level of teaching during your time in school. It is expected to fall within the bracket of GBP90-GBP130 per day, based on a 6.5 hour working day.

How to apply:

To apply for this role, you must hold UK Qualified Teacher Status. You must also be experienced in KS1 and be prepared and committed to raising standards in the classroom. The school will also be looking for a practitioner who is happy to mix with the current staffing team and become ‘part of the furniture’. For further details, please contact Amy on 01772 842154 in the Teaching Personnel Lancashire Office. We are a busy agency and have a number of open vacancies to begin following the October half term both full- and part-time. Still unsure?
