KS1/2 Behaviour TA - South Tyneside

Job description

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a small primary provision in South Tyneside, to recruit a full time Teaching Assistant on a temporary basis. There is strong potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate.

The role is based in an attached specialist provision for KS1/2 students with BESD. The school has a strong focus on individual social, emotional and physical development; you will be working closely to assist students in reaching achievable goals and targets through planning activities according to the level the student is working at. You will be strongly supported by other teaching assistants as well as the class teacher, who will work with the successful candidate to plan and carry out small group sessions. The candidate will also have the opportunity to assist in lunchtime clubs and nurture/social skills clubs for the children.

Candidates with experience working with BESD in mainstream and SEN environments are encouraged to apply. You will be dedicated to providing outstanding support. A Team Teach qualification is desirable for this role but not mandatory.

The ideal candidate will have:

At least three months experience in an SEND environment
-Experience working with students with BESD
- Excellent behaviour management skills
- A patient and caring attitude
