We are seeking a committed Key Stage 3 Teaching Assistant to support students aged 10 to 16 with SEMH needs, including anxiety, confidence issues and emotional regulation challenges.

About the Role

You will be joining a warm, skilled and compassionate team dedicated to helping students re-engage with learning and build the tools they need to thrive.

This full-time role involves supporting learners both in the classroom and through wellbeing-focused activities.

The school provides a safe, structured and understanding environment where staff work together to create meaningful and positive change for every student.

 

Your Responsibilities

You will support students through 1:1 and small-group interventions, encourage positive behaviour, and promote emotional resilience.

Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff, you will help students manage anxiety and social challenges while assisting with lesson delivery, adapted materials and personalised learning approaches.

Your presence will be key in helping pupils feel safe, valued and capable of success.

 

Requirements

A minimum of 6 months’ childcare or education experience is essential, particularly supporting children with SEN or SEMH needs.

You will need a calm, patient and resilient attitude with strong communication and relationship-building skills. A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning is vital.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
