Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a friendly, passionate and eager Teaching Assistant for a long term role within one of our fantastic schools, located in Cardiff (CF3).
The school's most recent Estyn inspection highlights its very effective safeguarding environment and outstanding communication between teachers, pupils and parents/carers.
Their enthusiastic staff and management are looking to appoint an additional member to join their team due to the expansion of the school. You will be working as a general teaching assistant, providing full classroom, small groups and one-to-one Literacy & Numeracy support to children in KS2 (Year 3 to Year 6).
This position would suit somebody with a very compassionate nature as the school has a high percentage of children with Social Emotional Mental Health and difficult backgrounds. Nurture, patience and a calm frame of mind are essential to work with the pupils.
The ideal candidate must have with a minimum of 1 term experience within the education sector and/or child care, OR be a recent graduate in the following : Education Studies, English, Maths, Drama or Psychology.
Special Educational Needs experience and any other related/additional qualifications are beneficial but not necessary. The school are looking for someone with a good academic background (minimum of GCSEs and A Levels inc. Maths and/or English - A* to C grades) and motivation to raise attainment. You must relate to children on an individual level as well as creating a fun and stimulating environment and maintaining high standards of education. The position would suit an individual looking to expand their experience in the Education sector and more specifically in a Primary school setting.
Applicants must :
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Hold a Child Workforce Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one - full assistance provided)
- Be registered with the Education Workforce Council (compulsory requirement in Wales) - please note that if you are living in England, you can still register with the EWC which will give you the opportunity to work on both sides of the border
- Provide at least two professional or character references
- Be available to interview and/or trial asap
- Be available to start on short notice
- Be living in Cardiff and/or have plans to move to Cardiff in the near future and/or be willing to travel to Cardiff
